The family Aglajidae
includes elongate species with small internal shells. Most are
nocturnal but brightly colored species such as Chelidonura hirundinina are
diurnal. They are predators feeding on acoelomate flatworms, polychaete
worms or
other opisthobranchs. About 19 species are known from Hawaii in nine
genera (Biuve, Chelidonura, Nakamigawaia, Niparaya, Noalda, Odontoglaja, Philinopsis, Spinoaglaja, and Tubulophilinopsis).
Aglaja nuttallii
Pilsbry, 1895 is probably not identifiable with modern material. (Kay,
1979).
