Tubulophilinopsis lineolata (H. Adams & A. Adams, 1854)
Maximum size: about 15 mm.
Identification:
This
is
a
cream animal, tinged with orange and marked by prominent, transverse
brown lines. The underside is densely reticulated.
Natural history: Tubulophilinopsis lineolata
is known from only two animals. Both were initially found drifting in
the water column, at night. The first was at about 8 m (26 ft) and the
second at about 2 m (8 ft).
Distribution:
Big Island: widely distributed in
the Pacific.
Taxonomic notes: It was first recorded in Hawaii from Puako, Big Island by Rob Johnson on June 1, 2023.
