The family
Flabellinidae includes aeolids with long, slender bodies and cerata
arising from a peduncle. Unlike the Samlidae, the rhinophores are either smooth or papillate. They feed on hydroids and most
are diurnal. At least three species are known
from Hawaii in the genera Cumanotus & Flabellina. Cumanotus is placed in it's own family, the Cumanotidae, by some authors.
