Samlidae
The family Samlidae
includes aeolids with long, slender bodies and cerata
arising from a peduncle. They feed on hydroids and most
are diurnal. Previously the family was included in the Flabelinidae.
It's distinguished from that family be the presence of perfoliate
rhinophores (rather than smooth or papillate rhinophores). At least
three species are known
from Hawaii, all in the genus Samla.
