Cavolinia tridentata (Forsskal in
Niebuhr, 1775)

Maximum size: 12 mm shell
length (Kay, 1979).
Identification:
This
is a large species with a strongly inflated, translucent-amber
shell.
Natural history:
Fragments of Cavolinia tridentata shells are
moderately rare in sand samples.
Distribution:
Maui and Midway: circumglobal.
Taxonomic notes:
The
photo labeled Cavolinia
globulosa in Kay, 1979 is probably this species.
