Thuridilla multimarginata Gosliner, 1995
Maximum size: 9 mm.

This
species
has an orange-brown body with low parapodia that meet in
the center without obvious chimneys. The parapodia are banded in black,

distinguished from Thuridilla neona
by the white marginal bands on its parapodia and by the forked white
patch on the top of its head.
Natural history:
This is a
moderately rare
species known from about ten animals. It has been found on moderately
protected to moderately exposed reef flats at depths of < 1 m (<
3
ft) and to
depths of 33 m (110 ft) in areas with rubble and Halimeda kanaloana. Mature
animals are diurnally active.
Distribution:
Big Island, Maui, Kahoolawe, Oahu, Kauai and Midway: widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific.
Taxonomic notes:
It
was
first recorded in Hawaii from Kahoolawe by PF in Dec. 1989 and was
named
after the "many banded" margin of its parapodia.
