Granulina(?) sp. #1
 
Granulina sp. #1
Maximum size:  about 3 mm.

Identification:  This is a very small species that appears to have a transparent shell with a profile similar to Granulina. The mantle has prominent, white tubercles and lateral patches flecked with yellow. A red "dash" shows through the shell and the "tail" is mottled with white.

Natural history:  Granulina sp. #1 is known from one animal found on algal turf at a moderately protected site at about 10 m (33 ft). (Note 1)

Distribution:  Oahu.

Taxonomic notes:  The ID of this species is very tentative. It was first recorded in Hawaii from Pupukea, Oahu by Damaris Torres-Pulliza and Roney Rodrigues on July 12, 2024.

Observations and comments:

Note 1:  Damaris described it as "moving quite fast."
