Embletoniidae
The family Embletoniidae includes a small number of dorso-ventrally flattened dendronotids with cerata arranged singly along each side of the body. The oral tentacles have been modified into a bi-lobed oral veil. The rhinophores lack a cup-like sheath and some retain nematocysts. The family was named for Denis Embleton, a Victorian anatomist at Newcastle University. One species in the genus Embletonia is found in Hawaii.

There has been some controversy over whether this family belongs in the Dendronotacea or Aeolidacea. Recent molecular evidence supports the former placement. (Terry Gosliner, pers. com.).
